We have, without doubt, sent down the
Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption). The Qur'an was revealed as a holy book
for Muslims. The contents of the verses are instructions and guidelines for
humans.
Muslims have a duty to preserve and
preserve their sanctity in order to preserve the authenticity of the verses of
the Qur’an.
Allah says:
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ
وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ [١٥:٩]
We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).
The PROPHITE Mohamed peace be upon him. He
said: Whoever reads a letter from the book of Allah (the Qur'an), then he gets
a virtue. One virtue is multiplied 10 times. I'm not saying that Alif Lām Mīm
is one letter, but that alif is one letter, lām is one letter, and mīm is one
letter.” (Hadist of Al-Tirmidhi)
Definitions of Quran
Various definitions have been put forward
by scholars regarding the meaning of the Qur'an. Scholars of the principles of
jurisprudence define the Qur’an as: “The miraculous word of God that was
revealed to the Prophet Muhammad in the Mutawatir, and reading it is worship.”
(Zarkouni)
There are many methods that Muslims use in
preserving and preserving the authenticity of the verses of the Qur’an, and one
of these methods is memorizing the Qur’an.
In the early period of Islam, every Prophet
Muhammad prayed. The Prophet received the revelation, so the Prophet, may God
bless him and grant him peace, did it to his companions and commanded that it
be written down and memorized.
Friends were very happy to receive the
order. They wrote and memorized the voice of revelation. The tradition of
writing and memorizing the Qur'an continued by the followers and then the
Muslims.
Indonesia is a country with a majority
Muslim population. The tradition of conservation has long been carried out in
different regions of the archipelago.
Quran memorization efforts were initially
carried out by scholars who studied in the Middle East through their teachers.
However, in later developments, the tendency to memorize the Qur'an began to
arouse great interest for the Indonesian people.
To meet this desire, Middle Eastern
graduates, especially from Hejaz (Mecca), established Quran memorization
institutions by establishing private Islamic boarding memorization schools, or
conducting Quran memorization education in existing Islamic boarding schools.
Initially, institutions preserving the Qur'an were still limited in some areas. However, after the inclusion of the Qur'an memorization branch of the Talawatl Mushaf (MTQ) in 1981, this model institution was developed in various regions in Indonesia.
This development certainly cannot be separated from the participation of scholars who memorized the Qur'an and who tried to spread and strengthen the teaching of Qur'an memorization. This has been going on until now.
